Restaurant Marin opens at South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa

Restaurateurs Marin & Noah von Blöm introduce a new concept to join their first restaurant, ARC, at SoCo

Costa Mesa, March 2016 – Husband-and-wife team, Chef Noah and Marín von Blöm, introduce a modern day diner to Orange County with the opening of Restaurant Marin at Costa Mesa’s South Coast Collection (3321 Hyland Avenue, Suite G). This sophisticated yet casual concept is located next to acclaimed sister restaurant, ARC, is the second project conceptualized and opened by the von Blöms’ DirtySexyHappiness Hospitality Group. A third concept, The Guild Club, is set to open in April 2016, also at Costa Mesa’s South Coast Collection.


SETTING
Named after Managing Partner Marin Howarth von Blöm, this fresh, Southern California diner serves breakfast all day, lunch, dinner and dessert from 7 a.m. to midnight daily. The 1,000-square-foot space features 30 seats, with indoor and patio dining. Décor in this modern-deco space features contemporary and vintage elements with brushed nickel, hues of blue, and crisp white. Guests can enjoy fine dining quality in a refined yet casual setting with antiqued mirrored panels, vintage windows, pressed sea glass tables, handmade Italian tiles, stingray leather booth seating, and French pendant lighting.

FOOD
Chef Noah Blöm brings the modern day diner to life with a menu of classic dishes. Offered on a breakfast menu as early as 7 a.m. is fresh-baked Brioche, English Muffin Sandwiches, fluffy Blueberry Pancakes, housemade Classic French Pate, House-Smoked Salmon, Homemade Granola, and a variety of toasts and egg dishes. Chef Blöm’s lunch menu features a selection of salads and sandwiches, with options sluch as Grilled Shrimp Louie and Grilled Steak Salads, and Butter-Poached Lobster Rolls and Slow-Roasted Short Rib Dip. The dinner menu impresses with a “Meat” section featuring Steak Frites and Classic Meatloaf, a “Fish” section with Fish & Chips and Olive Oil Salmon. In addition, the dinner menu features an ambitious Bouillabaisse with halibut, mussels, scallop and grilled shrimp; and a Stroganoff with Filet Mignon.  Also available throughout the day are classic desserts, pies, and crumbles.

“This concept is meant to be fresh, modern and cozy for our guests,” commented Marin, who was responsible for the design of the entire space. “Introducing a ‘California Diner’ concept was important for us so that we could offer guests fresh and light alternative to both ARC and soon-to-open, The Guild Club.”

LIBATIONS
The beverage program is led by Bar Chef Koire Rogers, who has earned accolades and awards for his cocktail program at ARC. Cocktails are made fresh and bottled daily, with a rotating menu of homemade sodas and fresh craft juice blends that change with the seasons. Tailored European wine and beer selections complement the fresh menu at Restaurant Marin.
