Opening Early Spring 2015, famed Chef Laurent to open his first authentic French Bistro inside The OC Mix at SOCO
COSTA MESA, Calif. (February, 2015) – Southern California’s destination for inspiration, and a premier culinary capital, interior design, event, and boutique-shopping haven, SOCO, has today announced thathighly-acclaimedChef Laurent Brazier, Executive Chef Instructor of LaCuisine Culinary Arts’ Professional Program, will open his first French bistro in the United States – Bistro Papillote by La Cuisine at The OC Mix at SOCO. Joining an already impressive list of award-winning chefs at SOCO, Chef Laurent’s previous experience spans Three Michelin Starred restaurants in France, international resort hotels and country clubs, and the creation of several successful restaurants, including his own Zagat-rated Picayo restaurant in Laguna Beach and La Cuisine Culinary Arts at Macy’s at South Coast Plaza.
“For the past four years I have been wanting to open a real French bistro at SOCO, and I finally have the opportunity. I can’t wait to share my vision with the food-focused customers at The OC Mix,” said Chef Laurent Brazier, Executive Chef and owner of Bistro Papillote by La Cuisine. “Our bistro will feature menu items you’d find if you were dining at café in Paris. It will be as close to France as you can get in Costa Mesa!”
Bistro Papillote by La Cuisine at The OC Mix at SOCO will take over the previous Seventh Tea Bar space, and offer full service breakfast and lunch, including Chef Laurent’s interpretation of quiches, crepes, Croque-Monsieur, and grab-and-go sandwiches and salads. At the open-air crepe bar, guests will be able to watch their delicious, fresh crepes be prepared right in front of them. Bistro Papillote by La Cuisine will also be available for private events catered by Chef Laurent’s catering company La Cuisine. Chef Laurentwill partner with neighboring Portola Coffee Lab to serve coffee and will offer his own tea by Republic of Tea. Bistro Papillote by La Cuisine also plans to serve exclusively French wines expertly curated by Chef Laurent who holds his Advanced Certificate of Wine & Spirit from the London WSET, as well as the level one Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Bistro Papillote plans to open in early March 2015 with anticipated hours of 9am – 11 am for breakfast, 11 am – 3 pm for lunch, and crepes, coffee and beverages until 6 pm with reservations for private dinners and events available. Bistro Papillote by La Cuisine is located inside of The OC Mix at SOCO located at3313 Hyland Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.
